Ecotec 1.9l to 2.4l engines
The 2.4 litre Ecotec inline engine from GM is a high volume series engine which is applied in many different vehicles. To increase the power the displacement volume growth from 2.2l to 2.4l. The variable valve timing helps deliver 90 percent of the torque peak at as low as 2400 rpm.
The inlet and exhaust camphasers are controlled by electrohydraulic valves wich are controlled by the engine control unit. The camphaser is applied in different GM and Alfa Romeo vehicles.
In the valve is a check valve and filters integrated.

Engine data
The GM 2.4l Ecotec engine develops 170 hp (127kW) and has a maximum torque of 230 Nm.
The Alfa 1,9 JTS develops 160 hp (118 kW) and has a maximum torque of 190 Nm. The next power level is the 2.2l JTS applied. This engine develops 185 hp (136 kW) with 230 Nm at 4500 rpm.
