Hilite´s Hydraulik-Ring division produces the high pressure Vanos system for the new M5 BMW V10 engine. It is a 5.0 litre V 10 engine with 507 horsepower and a maximum torque of 520 Nm. At the moment this is the only high rpm engine (8250 rpm) in a series limousine.

The valvetrain is at all parts leight weight designed this is the requirement for the high rpm concept.
High pressure double Vanos for optimum gas exchange.
The variable camphasing system fullfills an optimized gas exchange in the M5 engine. The system has very short adjustment times and this means:
more power, more torque, better performance, less fuel consumption and lower emissions. Because of the double Vanos technology the inlet and exhaust valves can be opened and closed at the optimum time.
